BROKEN ARROW — Two teams had notable second rounds at the Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship Monday — Texas and Oklahoma State.

The Longhorns, ranked No. 2 nationally and a decent bet in the upcoming NCAA Tournament, tore open a 22-stroke lead over second-place Baylor despite winds that blew up to 30 miles per hour. Texas managed weather, nerves and everything else to place four golfers on the leaderboard’s top five.

One of them, Agathe Laisne, leads the field as the tournament’s only golfer under par. Laisne shot a 2-over 74 – an admirable score in Monday’s wind – to stay at 1-under heading into Tuesday’s final round. Teammate Sara Kouskova, who led the tournament after Sunday’s first round, is alone in second place at 3-over.

Oklahoma State jumped from fifth in the team standings to third. The Cowgirls are just three strokes behind Baylor, and could move into second with a strong closing round from their three individuals on the leaderboard.

Lianna Bailey managed a 78 Monday to tie for fifth place. Michelle Forsland shot OSU’s low round with a 74 to join teammate Han-Hsuan Yu in a tie for 10th.

“We still have a lot more out there. We haven’t realized our full potential yet,” Cowgirls coach Courtney Jones said. “We hope we can have a magical day tomorrow and finish on a high note.”

Oklahoma is hoping for the same. The Sooners rose from sixth to fifth position as Libby Winans carded a 5-over 77 to tie for third individually.
