A pair of Big 12 standouts teamed up Sunday to help USA Basketball take down Lithuania, 102-84, in a key Group A showdown at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Heraklion, Greece.

Oklahoma State guard Isaac Likekele posted 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting while Iowa State’s Tyrese Halliburton led all players with 21 points, including 19 in the first half, and a game-high eight assists.

Lithuania (1-1) entered the game tied with Canada at No. 2 in the world rankings, and kept the game close with timely shots against the top-ranked Americans (2-0). A buzzer-beating 3-pointer just before halftime closed the USA lead to 51-41 at the break, but Likekele and the Americans busted the game open in the third quarter.

Likekele also pulled down three rebounds and added an assist in 16 minutes. In two games at the FIBA U19 World Cup, Likekele is averaging 10 points, 4.5 assists and 4 rebounds on 69.2% shooting.

The USA will close out group play against Senegal at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
