Oklahoma’s defensive line received a big boost on Wednesday afternoon.

Perrion Winfrey, a 6-4, 305-pound defensive lineman from Iowa Western Community College, announced he will join the Sooners’ 2020 recruiting class.

Winfrey, who is from Chicago, drew scholarship offers from plenty of college football’s heavyweight programs including Alabama, LSU, Penn State and Texas. He registered 27 tackles and four sacks at Iowa Western last season.

Winfrey is the 11th member to pledge to Oklahoma’s 2020 recruiting class. He’s the third defensive player, joining defensive backs Dontae Manning and Ryan Watts.
