After 14 months of co-hosting the Sports Animal Tulsa’s “Coach and Big O” sports-talk radio show, Jerry Ostroski has accepted an offer to work in the University of Tulsa’s athletic department.

A source confirmed the move, but was not specific about the nature of Ostroski’s new role at TU.

After April 26, Sports Animal programming director Kevin Ward indicated, Ostroski no longer will be the everyday host of the station’s 11 a.m.-2 p.m. show but will remain a presence at the Sports Animal.

In 1991, Ostroski was an All-American offensive lineman for the Golden Hurricane football team. Last year, the university retired his jersey. In 1994-2001, he made 102 starts for the Buffalo Bills.

The 48-year-old Ostroski succeeded Al Jerkens as the radio partner of former Oklahoma State football coach Pat Jones. After a long television-and-radio career in Tulsa, Jerkens retired last year.
