Keyshawn Embery-Simpson averaged 28.6 points per game as a junior at Midwest City. Tulsa World file

The University of Tulsa added a key recruiting piece Monday in the form of guard Keyshawn Embery-Simpson, a Midwest City native transferring from Arkansas.

Embery-Simpson, listed at 6-foot-3 and 202 pounds, averaged four points per game as a freshman this year. He announced the news on Twitter.

With last week’s dismissal of Arkansas coach Mike Anderson, Embery-Simpson will seek a waiver that could make him eligible next season, a source close to the program said.

A former four-star prospect who spent his senior year at IMG Academy in Florida, Embery-Simpson was recruited by the Hurricane out of high school. He averaged 26.8 points as a junior at Midwest City.
