Drillers, RockHounds postponed by wet field
Summary: The field at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland, Texas, was deemed “unplayable” for the Tulsa Drillers’ Texas League game against the RockHounds on Wednesday night.
The infield still was soaked from the powerful thunderstorm Tuesday night that included golf ball-sized hail that tore holes in the tarp and rained out Game 2 of the four-game series. The teams had planned to play a doubleheader Wednesday, then changed those plans to a single game before giving up on playing at all.
The Drillers and RockHounds will play a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Thursday. The other rained-out game will be played in Tulsa as part of a doubleheader at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Probable pitchers: Game 1: Tulsa, RHP Dustin May (1-1, 1.89 ERA) vs. Midland RHP Parker Dunshee (1-2, 2.35). Game 2: Tulsa, RHP Parker Curry (1-1, 5.79 ERA) vs. Midland, RHP Matt Milburn (0-0, 4.50).
