In its 34th year of honoring the nation’s best high school athetes, the Gatorade Company has named Holland Hall forward Gabby Gregory as its girls basketball player of the year for the state of Oklahoma.

A University of Oklahoma signee, Gregory averaged 22.7 points and 10.5 rebounds as a senior, scored 30 or more nine times and led her team into the state tournament for the third straight year.

She scored 21 points in a first-round loss to No. 1 Muldrow in the 4A state tournament, and finished her high school career with 2,699 points — eighth in Oklahoma 5-on-5 girls career scoring.

The 6-foot forward averaged 31.2 points and 11.6 rebounds last season and was named All-World player of the year by the Tulsa World. She was also chosen Pinncacle Conference MVP for the second straight year.

On Feb. 1, she went over 2,500 career points and 1,000 career rebounds in a win over Regent Prep. She now totals 1,097 rebounds over four seasons.
