Janson Hightower has been hired as Cascia Hall’s new girls head basketball coach and middle school athletic director.

As girls basketball coach, he replaces Jeremy Ford, who is moving to Muskogee as the new head girls coach.

Hightower spent the past five seasons as the men’s head coach at Southwestern University, an NCAA Division III school in Georgetown, Texas. This past season, he guided the Pirates to a share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title and was named coach of the year.

He joins his father as part of the Cascia Hall community. Danny Hightower, longtime former Owasso High boys basketball coach, is a current Cascia teacher and boys basketball coach.

“I’m excited and honored to join such a prestigious institution,” Janson Hightower said in a news release. “I look forward to working with our students and challenging them to work to achieve their best.”

Hightower played high school basketball for his dad at Owasso and went on to a standout career at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas. He received his MBA from the University of Central Arkansas, Conway, in 2012.
