Muskogee Public Schools announced Tuesday that boys basketball coach Josh Berry will not be retained in his coaching duties. Berry will remain in his teaching role within the district.
“We have decided to go in a different direction in the leadership of the boy’s basketball program,” Muskogee Superintendent Jarod Mendenhall said in a media release. “I appreciate the time and effort that Josh has put into the boy’s basketball program. We believe that a change in leadership will spark new life in the program for our student-athletes.”
Berry has been head coach of the Roughers since 2012. Prior to joining Muskogee, Berry served as the girls coach at Tulsa Rogers and as a men’s assistant at Independence Community College in Kansas.
