Oklahoma State's Hassan Abdi and Jacob Fincham-Dukes finished in the top three of their respective track and field events Thursday, earning trips to the NCAA Outdoor Championships on the first day of competition at the NCAA West Regional in Sacramento, California.

Abdi finished third in the 10,000m with a time of 29:00.45. Fincham-Dukes was the men’s long jump runner-up with a mark of 7.84m/25-8.75.

Carsyn Spurgeon led the Golden Hurricane as the University of Tulsa's highest finisher with a 13th-place showing in the long jump. Spurgeon leapt 6.08 meters (19-11.50 feet), missing out on qualifying for the NCAA Outdoor Championships by one spot, which translated to less than an inch.

Jaden Purnell led Oral Roberts with a 31st-place finish in the men's long jump.
