Former East Central High School captain and co-defensive coordinator Brian Jones has been hired as Hale’s head football coach, pending Tulsa Public Schools board approval.
Jones, a 2001 East Central graduate, was a three-year starter at defensive back for the Cardinals and played two seasons at Memphis before a career-ending injury. He returned to the Cardinals as an assistant from 2007-12, with the last three seasons as their co-defensive coordinator.
Jones was Okmulgee’s offensive coordinator in 2013 and ’14, and Rogers’ defensive coordinator in 2015. He spent the past season at Hale Junior High.
“Brian is a great fit at Hale, and we are excited to welcome him to the Ranger Nation,” TPS athletic director Gil Cloud said.
