YUKON — The first half Friday night was a forgettable 24 minutes for Jenks coach Allan Trimble.

The Trojans turned over the ball three times, completed just one pass to a receiver not named Isaiah Epps and struggled to move the ball on the ground outside of two long runs.

Then there’s the second half: Running back Jordon Curtis rushing for two of his three touchdowns; a first-team defense that held Yukon to just 78 yards; and an offense that finally found a rhythm.

Jenks stretched its winning streak to 13 games and remained unbeaten with a 55-13 win over Yukon.

“We’re happy with that,” Trimble said. “We had a blessing of staying injury-free, as far as I know. We had a pretty clean night. We’ll take it.”

Jenks (8-0, 3-0 6AI-1) surpassed 50 points for the fourth time this season but took the tough road to get there. The Trojans, who scored 176 points over their previous three games, staggered good drives and bad drives in the first half. They scored three times on their first five possessions but also threw an interception and were forced into a three-and-out.

After the Trojans took at 21-point lead, they fumbled the ball on back-to-back possessions, including Epps’ fumble on the 1.

“The back-to-back turnovers just kind of sapped our own momentum a little bit,” Trimble said. “I encouraged them at halftime, and I think we came out and cleaned it up pretty good.”

Yukon (0-8, 0-4 6AI-1) has lost 11 games in a row.

Jenks scored on four consecutive drives to start the second half. Epps bounced back in the second half, as well, finishing with 11 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Curtis, playing in his first game in more than a month, finished with 159 yards on just five carries.

“It felt great,” Curtis said. “I’ve been out for a long time. It just feels good to be back with my team and help.”
