Union steamrolled its way into the playoffs on Friday night, demolishing Edmond North 51-20 at Tuttle Stadium.
The Redskins improved to 8-2 overall and 7-0 in District 6AI-2. Union will host Edmond Santa Fe in the Class 6AI quarterfinals on Friday.
Union strolled to its seventh consecutive victory with 396 total yards of total offense.
Xavier Dandridge led Union with 100 yards rushing and a touchdown on 11 carries. Dandridge’s TD run was Union’s final score, a 27-yarder in the fourth quarter.
Quaterback Peyton Thompson threw three touchdown passes, including a 14-yard strike to Spencer Shadle for the Redskins’ first score of the game.
Thompson also threw touchdown passes to Kyler Pearson (18 yards) and Tory Dillard (8 yards).
Darius Boone Jr., who rushed for 60 yards on eight carries, had a 37-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Elijah Tomlin also scored in the first, on a 25-yard run.
Then Union’s defense got in the scoring act with AJ Green’s 70-yard interception return for a touchdown.
On special teams, the Redskins’ Noah Rauschenberg kicked a school-record 54-yard field goal in the second quarter.
Union’s defense limited Edmond North to 294 yards on offense. The Huskies finished their season 0-10 overall and 0-7 in 6AI-2.
