JENKS — With few issues, Jenks continued its domination this season, as well as historically against teams from the west side of the state on Friday night.

Noah Hernandez ran for three touchdowns and 113 yards on just five carries and Ian Corwin passed for two TDs and rushed for another to lead the Class 6AI No. 2 Trojans to a convincing 42-20 victory in District 6AI-1 action at Allan Trimble Stadium.

The victory was the 55th in a row for Jenks (7-1, 4-1) against a westside team, dating back to 2003, and the fourth consecutive this season versus a school from west of the Tulsa metro area.

In those four games, the Trojans have outscored their opponents by a 195-46 margin.

Norman (4-4, 2-3) took an early 3-0 first-quarter lead on a 25-yard field goal by Grady Wade, converting after recovering a Jenks fumble at the Trojans 30-yard line.

But the Tigers’ only lead of the night was short-lived.

It took the home team just two offensive plays and 58 seconds to take the lead for good. After a 35-yard kickoff return by Dylan O’Keefe set up the Trojans at the Norman 45, Hernandez scored his first touchdown on a 36-yard burst.

He added his second TD with 5 minutes remaining in the quarter, taking a handoff and going up the middle before veering to the outside and scoring from 35 yards.

After Wade narrowed the Tigers’ deficit to 14-6 on a 30-yard field goal, the Trojans took a 21-6 lead into halftime on Corwin’s 2-yard TD pass to O’Keefe with 6:56 to play in the quarter.

Hernandez got Jenks rolling early again, finishing the Trojans’ first series of the third quarter with his final touchdown on a 27-yard scamper.

Corwin fired a 12-yard TD toss to Bo Estes later in the third before capping his team’s scoring on a 15-yard keeper midway through the fourth quarter.

On Senior Night, the senior quarterback chipped in 50 yards on the ground.

After connecting on 5-of-9 passes for 43 yards in the first half, Corwin warmed up after halftime, hitting on his first nine attempts and 11-of-12 to end up with 204 yards through the air.

Dreyson Watters added 67 yards rushing on 13 carries for Jenks.

Norman quarterback Cade Horton raced 31 yards for a touchdown and hooked up with wide receiver Andrew Young on a 49-yard TD pass to account for both Tigers touchdowns.

Norman running bak Joe Willie led all rushers with 127 yards on 18 attempts. Horton rushed for 77 yards.
