A strong finish in the first half helped the Oral Roberts women’s basketball team run past IPFW Saturday 84-56 in the regular-season finale at the Mabee Center.
The Golden Eagles (15-14, 9-7) won five of their last seven games to earn the No. 3 seed in the Summit League Tournament. ORU will face the No. 6 seed North Dakota State at 2:30 p.m. March 8 at Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
The Golden Eagles closed the first half with a 16-6 run to go up 41-30 at intermission. They built on their lead with a 6-0 run to start after intermission.
ORU outscored IPFW 46-14 in the paint led by Vicky McIntyre’s 22 points and 17 rebounds. McIntyre was joined by fellow starters Jordan Doyle (season-high 17 points), Atoe’ Jackson (16) and Dorottya Balla (11) in double figures.
For IPFW 99-20, 3-13), Haley Seibert led all scorers with 23 points.
This was McIntyre’s 23rd double-double of the season. She set the ORU and Summit League single-season record with 449 rebounds.
